WxUp.TV is an independent weather radar viewer and education site from AiEi Ohio Labs. The site does not require visitors to create an account to use the public radar viewer or read the learning pages.
Information handled by the site
- Radar station selections: When you choose a radar station, the site may request public radar, station, forecast, or alert data needed to display that station.
- ZIP or coordinate lookup: If you use the nearest-radar feature, the lookup value is used to request a nearby radar station. Do not enter information you do not want processed for that lookup.
- Route Weather entries: If you submit a route, the start, destination, departure time, and route options are sent through WxUp.TV to Geoapify for geocoding and routing and to National Weather Service services as route checkpoint coordinates for forecasts and alerts. Optional titles and personal notes stay in the share-link fragment and are not sent to the Route Weather API. This feature does not intentionally write route request bodies or provider URLs to application logs, and automatic Worker tracing is disabled for the integration.
- Tab-only route cache: If enabled, a completed Route Weather result is kept in browser session storage for up to ten minutes and is cleared when the tab closes. Clear removes Route Weather entries for the current tab.
- Basic technical data: Hosting, analytics, security, and performance systems may process routine data such as browser type, approximate network information, page requests, timestamps, and referrer information.
Analytics and advertising
WxUp.TV may use Google services and other third-party services for analytics, measurement, site performance, and advertising. Depending on the service and a visitor's choices, these services may use cookies, web beacons, local storage, IP addresses, or similar technologies to measure visits, prevent abuse, improve the site, personalize or limit advertising, and report performance. The Route Weather page is an ad-free pilot in its current form.
Google advertising cookies and choices
Third-party vendors, including Google, may place or read cookies in a visitor's browser or use web beacons or IP addresses as a result of ad serving if advertising is enabled. Google uses advertising cookies to help serve ads on partner websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on a visitor's visits to WxUp.TV and/or other websites on the Internet.
Visitors may opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services at Google's Business Data Responsibility site. Browser settings can also be used to manage or block cookies, although doing so may affect analytics, advertising, or some site features.
If WxUp.TV enables another third-party advertising vendor or ad network, this policy will identify the relevant provider and provide its privacy or opt-out information before that vendor becomes part of the site's advertising setup.
Consent
Where consent is required, WxUp.TV intends to present the required choices before enabling advertising storage or personalized advertising. Google publisher products have additional consent-management requirements for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland; those requirements are treated as a launch gate for personalized Google advertising in those regions.
Third-party weather and lookup services
WxUp.TV uses public weather and lookup resources such as NOAA/National Weather Service endpoints and ZIP-code or geocoding resources where needed. Route Weather also uses Geoapify for submitted geocoding and routing. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy practices.
